Psalm 139 reminds us that God is intricately involved in the growth and development of a baby in their mother's womb:-

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother's womb." (Ps 139:13, NLT)

So as we come to God in prayer, we know that His craftmanship and remarkable creativity is at work. This page provides three short prayers for unborn babies, with the first one being a simple prayer of protection and thanksgiving for God's new life. Sometimes, complications can develop in the womb such as sickness, kidney problems or an irregular heart beat. The second prayer can be said by a pregnant mother as a prayer for her healing and health. The final prayer is a request for God's hand of healing and transformation to come and grace the precious little unborn boy or girl.

Heavenly Father,

You have created in me new life, a little baby, unique and perfect and so full of joy! Each time I feel this little one with me I am more excited! I feel such wonder and such blessings.

I ask for your Almighty hand to hold and keep us as we carry this precious gift. I trust in your care and protection and look forwards to watching this little person grow more on earth.

You alone intimately know the little one I carry. You are the creator, the author of all life, your touch can transform, heal and restore.
