armor of god prayer
This page features an inspiring prayer about wearing the full armor of God, based on the Paul’s letter to the Ephesians (Eph 6:10-18). God has not left us defenceless against the ways of evil. He has graciously given us a heavenly protection that we can call upon.
In the first prayer we can consciously put on the whole armor of God - and become equipped with his truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation. Further down this page there are other short prayers for protection, and a bible reading of Ephesians 6:10-18, using three contemporary versions.
Lord,
Today I choose to clothe myself in you.
To buckle your truth like a belt around my waist.
To know I have your righteousness as a breastplate to protect me from harm.
To walk with peace into all the places my feet tread.
To hold tight to my shield of faith defeating each arrow of accusation.
To wear salvation like a helmet around my thoughts,
And to grasp hold of your words at work in me,
And to use them like a sword to cut through darkness and confusion.
Today I chose to clothe myself in you.
